Residentie Orchestra of The Hague
On the occasion of the bicentenary of Franz Liszt's birth in 2011, Decca France released the first complete recording of the solo piano music, recorded in the 1960s by French pianist France Clidat. Available for the first time on CD, the anthology met with the expected success.
Today, as a complement, we are releasing her recordings of some of the composer's works for piano and orchestra, with the Residentie Orchestra of The Hague conducted by Roger Norrington.
Nicknamed 'Madame Liszt' by the critics, France Clidat makes a veritable firework of these scores: her piano sings, dreams, explodes and resounds like that of the Hungarian master.
