ArtistsDaniel Cook (organ)
Daniel Cook is the sub organist of Westminster Abbey and has recorded many CDs of complete cycles of British music for Priory.
From the great Willis of Salisbury on volume 1, Cook’s second volume comes from its sister organ in Durham, another superb vehicle for this composer’s music, which needs space and presence. It abounds here in plenty.
Reviewing Volume 1 (PRCD1095) The American Record Guide said: "Cook's performances are irreproachable from a technical point of view, but they also vividly communicate the expressive character of the music, whether dramatic and fiery or tender and lyrical. These are magnificent performances and dazzling sound. I can foresee Cook's recordings becoming the benchmark for this repertory."
