Rachmaninovs two early and one late work are performed by the Miskolc Symphony Orchestra conducted by László Kovács.
The Isle of the Dead, written in 1909, is followed by the Symphonic Dances, composed some years before his death. The closing item of the album is Vocalise, his perhaps best-known work, which had originally formed part of a song cycle. This version for full orchestra was arranged by Rachmaninov himself.
