Missa de Maria a Magdala was composed thanks to the initiative of two people, conductor Marco Castellini and Father Sylwester Jacek Kwiatkowski, the parish priest of St Nicholasís Roman Catholic Parish in Bremgarten, Switzerland. The former, fascinated by Paweł Łukaszewski, suggested that the priest commission a piece from the composer.
The text of Missa de Maria a Magdala (Mary Magdalene) has been given an extraordinary aural shape by Paweł Łukaszewski, one that transports listeners to a mystical elevation in which, he/she experiences the presence of God. It is music that that induces listeners to meditation.
