About

'Famous Classical Pianists' is a 20-CD box set that gathers together historic recordings by many of the greatest pianists of the 20th century. Amongst the artists are Vladimir Horowitz, Arthur Rubinstein, Edwin Fischer, Dinu Lipatti, Wilhelm Backhaus, Dame Myra Hess, Clara Haskil, Alfred Cortot, Emil Gilels, Claudio Arrau and Sergei Rachmaninov.

This 20-CD set has been compiled by one of the most accomplished music journalists around today, the editor-in-chief and publisher of the notable German magazine '‘Piano News', Carsten Durer. He has chosen twenty soloists who have left their mark on the history of the performance and interpretation of piano music throughout the last century.
