The double CD album 'Music For Heroes' is a unique proposition that brings together all of Decca's best-selling military albums in one special package.

First up, from the 2008 'Spirit of the Glen' series come tracks from The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards - Amazing Grace, Abide With Me, Dear Lord & Father - played on the instrument that evokes the spirit of Scotland, the pipes.

There has been a fantastic swell in national pride since the Olympics and to reflect this our great and good perform uplifting, bombastic and celebratory anthems. From the Central Band of the Royal Air Force we hear songs from the 'fly boys' - 633 Squadron and Battle of Britain March, as well as the poignant speech made by Sir Winston Churchill, "Their Finest Hour", set to what is arguably the unofficial British national anthem, Jerusalem.

From the Band of H M Royal Marines we hear everything from jaunty jig A Life On The Ocean Wave to just over a minute of pure drumming excellence on Extremeo Vitualamen. The Band of the Coldstream Guards complete this list with greats such as Where Eagles Dare, Nimrod and The Great Escape.

And finally, tapping into a more reflective sound on the album, the inclusion of the wonderful Dame Vera Lynn with (There'll Be Bluebirds Over) The White Cliffs of Dover and We'll Meet Again and, bringing us up to date, the smash-hit Wherever You Are and Silver Tassie from best-selling choral group Military Wives.
