Weaving through the documentary is a critically acclaimed performance of the work, created especially for the film and presented in its entirety on the second disc, recorded in New York City's Riverside Church by an orchestra of musicians especially brought together from the New York Philharmonic, the Detroit Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and an assembled chorus from the NYC area.
