Corelli’s Opus 5 is one of the milestones of the violin literature. Fruit of a long and patient maturation, Enrico Gatti gives us one of the reference recordings of this masterpiece, accompanied here by two artists well known to the Arcana catalogue: cellist Gaetano Nasillo, fresh from his Caldara recording, and harpsichordist Guido Morini. Morini is leader (with Marco Beasley) of the Accordone ensemble whose Frà Diavolo will be a key Arcana release in the Autumn. This multi-award-winning disc returns with new artwork and a cover featuring a still life by Christian Berentz, commissioned from his artist friend by Corelli himself.
