More Details on Jeno Hubay - Works for Violin & Piano Vol.12
Jenõ Hubay (1858–1937) belonged to the most significant performers of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In his works he naturally gave preference to his own instrument, the violin.
Hubay’s oeuvre therefore chiefly consists of his violin pieces. Almost each type of these works are represented on this, the 12th volume of the recorded series. It includes three pieces which bear signs of Hungarian thematic invention, three character pieces composed in the style of European romanticism and two transcriptions - ‘Valse Impromptu’ and ‘Elegy’.
