More Details on Kent Olofsson - Cordes
Kent Olofsson is internationally known for his chamber music written in
close collaboration with ensembles and musicians. He seeks out new
worlds of sound and performance techniques.
On the first work "Corde", virtuoso soloist Stefan Östersjö plays chrango, midi-electric guitar, Glissentar, 11-stringed alto guitar and 5- stringed banjo together with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. The third movement is dedicated to Gyorgy Ligeti, a clear source of inspiration.
Following this is "The Bells", a work in four sections written for solo voices, double choir, ensemble and electronics. This is thematically inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's poem but the text which forms the libretto is expanded beyond the original verse.
