More Details on Knut Skram: Concert Recordings
Norway’s foremost baritone Knut Skram achieved his breakthrough at Glyndebourne in 1969 as Guglielmo in Così. He has appeared in Wagner at the Deutsche Oper and in Beethoven, Strauss and Verdi at Staatsoper in Berlin. In his homeland, Knut Skram is a living legend, and these days he is heavily involved in performances at the brand new opera house in Oslo. This CD contains concert recordings from Skram’s entire career which are being made available for the first time.
Over the years, and with the development of his voice, Skram has taken on all the major baritone roles, including Germont in “La Traviata”, and Ford in “Falstaff”. He has also appeared in the title role as “Macbeth”, and performed the part of Don Carlos in “La forza del destino”.
