More Details on Mieczyslaw Horszowski Recital
Mieczyslaw Horszowski (23 June 1892 – 22 May 1993) had the longest performing career of any artist – his first recital being at the age of 7, and his last at 100.
During the Second World War, Horszowski moved to the USA, and for many years he taught at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, where his pupils included Richard Goode and Murray Perahia.
Schumann’s Träumerei became something of a signature in Horszowski’s last years, and few audiences were willing to leave the concert-hall before he had regaled them with an infinitely tender account of this famous piece.
