About

Any release featuring that brilliant firebrand Martha Argerich deserves close critical attention” International Record Review

For many people, Martha Argerich is simply the greatest pianist of our time. Her interpretations are united by the effortlessness and pure joy of her music making and her individual approach to each work, each situation and each audience.

Recorded live at the 25th La Roque d’Anthéron International Piano Festival in 2005, this DVD pays tribute to a consummate artist. Known for promoting talented musicians, Argerich invited two young French string-players to join her on the stage: Both Renaud Capuçon and Gautier Capuçon (violin and violoncello respectively) are at the beginning of promising international solo careers.  They end this scintillating recital with a triumphant performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto.

The accompanying DVD booklet includes an informative essay by Jeremy Siepmann.
