More Details on Han-Na Chang - Romance
Han-Na’s recordings are regularly best sellers worldwide and have achieved numerous distinctions. Rarely a review goes by without singling out the incredible depth, musicality and technical assurance of her playing.
On this album Han-Na Chang joins forces with Antonio Pappano and Rome’s Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in an album of romantic works for cello & orchestra.
‘Romance’ contains a personal selection of beautiful and romantic pieces for cello and orchestra from Lalo’s Cello Concerto to Saint-Saens’ Allegro Appassionato to Casals’ Song of the Birds, all of which are rarely performed on stage or recorded on disc. Han-Na describes these pieces as “forgotten jewels of the past.”
Her partner in this album, Antonio Pappano, is renowned for his boundless energy and the freshness and enthusiasm he brings to all his musical collaborations. Commenting on their collaboration Chang says: “He’s so passionate and full of energy, it affects everybody in the room!”
