As a tribute to Nikolaus Harnoncourt – Mozart authority and hugely respected performance practice pioneer – Sony Classical releases on home video the TV film “Mission Mozart”.

This film documented the one-and-only recording project between Harnoncourt and pianist Lang Lang – the highly successful “The Mozart Album” – recorded at Vienna’s Musikverein in 2014. Exclusive behind-the-scenes footage shows the once-in-a-lifetime recording project of these two great artists.

The documentary shows insights into the rehearsals and preparations, as well as interviews and comments by Lang Lang and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.

The TV documentary was created in cooperation with Deutsche Welle and Sony Classical.

The film also appears on DVD in the Deluxe Edition “Harnoncourt - The Complete Sony Recordings”.
